What non-retail jobs are available for an 18 year old student? I'm 18 years old and finishing an extra semester in high school. After January 25 I will be done and have the spring and summer to work. Any suggestions?
Do most retail jobs offer 401k plans and do I really need one? I'm 22 and just got offered a job as a full time cashier at a department store. They offer health insurance but don't have any savings plans such as 401k or anything similar. I want a job I can stay at for several years so I'm wondering if a 401k plan is even necessary and if any retail stores or entry level jobs do offer 401k plans. What do you guys think?
Planning on going to UH and wondering how many retail jobs are located close by? As I said, planning on moving to Honolulu and attending UH. Wondering if there are many retail jobs located w/in a few miles of UH. Ideally finding a room to share/job and have the school all w/in a 5mile radius would be great. Or are most of the jobs(retail type) located pretty far from UH? I would like to own a bike and forgo having to get a car if thats possible.
What are good retail jobs in in the Indy area? I am going to be moving to Indianapolis this summer, and I plan to start looking for jobs soon. I would prefer a job in retail since I plan on going into retail management after college, but I'm not closed to anything at this point except fast food. I'm not too familiar with the area and would appreciate suggestions on good stores and places that are hiring right now.
What do retail jobs like Barnes and Noble, Hallmark, Bath & Body usually pay? I have worked in office jobs for so long, I know the pay will be much lower in retail shops, but what is the general starting pay?? Do they normally have benefits such as insurance and do they usually let you work 40 hours, or just below to keep you "techinally" part time thereby avoiding having to pay you benefits? Thanks for the help.

Are there any retail jobs that offer 8 to 4 or 9 to 5 schedules? I know alot of them claim to be flexible and I dont need to be "flexible" I need a steady schedule. It doesnt even have to be retail it can be something else (hotel, resturant, customer service). It also has to be full-time. I need to move by Dec 1st. And I dont need a seasonal job. I've only had two jobs, Target and a daycare facility.

Retail jobs that start with a higher wage? Its no secret that most retail stores start their employees at minimum wage. But there are some that start higher. I live in the Sacramento, CA Area and over the summer i worked at Costco and they started at 11/hr. And on Sundays they paid 16/hr. I had to quit due to school but i am now looking for a job. What other retailers start their employees at higher than minimum wage pay. Thanks.
Are there any part-time retail jobs that you can forget about when you leave? I'm self-employed and thinking of getting a part-time job for extra money in this slow economy. My business takes a lot of thought and planning, and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a retail store job that doesn't get you all worried and stressed out when you leave at the end of your shift. Also, does anyone have any advice about lengths of shifts (in hours) and rates to request. (I live in the Philly area.) Thank you.

When applying for a professional job, do you include "little" jobs like retail? I have a bachelor's degree but couldn't find a "real" job so instead I worked a little retail job. I'm applying for "real" jobs again but am wondering if I should include my retail job or not. I had previously worked a professional job years ago, but then went back to school for a bit. I tried to get back in the work force, but couldn't find anything so I've been doing retail for the past 6 months. Should I include this when applying for these new professional jobs?
What is the Salary for Gaming Retail Jobs? Heya people, I'm looking out for a job in London but right now I'm kinda concern about the amount of Salary I will get. When applying for basic retail jobs do they always call you back? I go into stores, fill out a job application, the person there says they'll give it to the manager and that I'll hear back in a few days. And then I never get a phone call. Is it because my basic 1-2 page application sucks or something? Or is it cause the managers don't really care and just leave the applications on a desk somewhere and never look at them? Should I call them and ask?
I have a MANA degree, 7 yrs of retail experience, but want to get out of retail. What jobs am I qualified for? The retail experience also includes supervising 12 people, being responsible for and handling at least $6000.00 in cash, and running a 5,000+ foot square foot clothing department. I don't know what I want to do with my life, but I NEED a change. I'm a perfectionist and need an occupation that demands perfection and attention to detail. I'm tired of leaving at the end of the night wishing I could've gotten more done even though I gave my 110%. I want to clock out knowing that I've done my job and have done it well. How is it that the 2.5 extra hours I put in each week makes absolutely no difference whatsoever? Those 2.5 hours are paid 15 minute breaks that I don't take because there is so much that needs to be done and no one to do it except ME! It will NEVER end. I'm not a lawyer or a doctor, so why should I have to put up with that type of stress for less than $12/hr? Please give me some advice on what types of jobs I would enjoy and be qualified for.
